2020 was a strange year for all of us with the global pandemic and all... and that impacted everything of course, including movies and television production. So these are the only movies I've seen that were released in 2020.

I still watched a lot of movies this year, around 94 if I remembered to log them all on letterboxd.com, down from 135 movies last year, but I read a lot more books this year than last year, and I'm happy with that trade-off.

I watched A LOT more movies in 2018 than ever before! Assuming I logged them all on letterboxd, 135 movies, to be exact. And of those 135 movies, 59 of them were new releases from 2018. Most of these movie titles below are linked to my very short mini-reviews on letterboxd.com. (I highly recommend it if you like to watch a lot of movies. It's like Goodreads for movies.)

I thought I didn't need another Spider-Man movie. I was wrong. This was so much fun!
Here are some of the reasons I loved it:
- I tend to enjoy anything that plays with the ideas of the multiverse/parallel worlds.
- It was very funny at times.
- The animation was stunning! They made it feel like you were watching an actual comic book come to life!
- really fun soundtrack
- Spider-Gwen!!!
- Looney Tunes inspired Peter Porker/Spider-Ham! ("That's all folks!" / "Can he say that? You know, legally?")
- Stan Lee cameo
- Spider-Man Noir, the Peter Parker from a black and white universe in 1933. He is a private detective, of course. And he is voiced by Nicholas Cage.
- During the first origin story recap by Peter Parker, we see all of these flashback type clips referring to scenes we've seen in previous Spider-man movies, including the iconic upside-down kiss in the rain from the first one with Tobey Maguire and the train rescue.
These are basically my favorite shows that are currently airing plus one I'm really excited about that is premiering soon!
I came down with the Flu (type A) on Friday, February 9. 😓 I didn't know I had the Flu until Sunday, the 11th. And I didn't go back to work until Friday the 16th. So I slept a lot and watched a lot of TV that week! I binge watched all of season 5 of Will and Grace, caught up on Supergirl and The Flash, and watched the final two episodes of Star Trek: Discover, which were AWESOME! I LOVE that show!
There weren't many new episodes airing during the Olymics, and I didn't watch the Olympics. But this week I watched the first two episodes of the new season of The Voice because I freakin' love Kelly Clarkson! And oh my word, the judges were cracking me up! I have a feeling I will at least watch all of the blind auditions this season and I might even keep watching after that, which would be a first!
I'm also starting to watch Battlestar Galactica (2004) for the first time. I'm sure I'll be telling you more about that later...
Oh, and I've watched two episodes of Black Mirror:
S1E3: The Entire History of You
Set in an alternative reality where everyone has access to a system which records everything they do, see or hear. You need never forget a face, a holiday or a night out again... but is that always a good thing?
S3E1: Nosedive
Insecure office worker Lacie lives in a happy, smiley, status-obsessed nightmare world. Her old friend Naomi is one of society’s elites, and Lacie may have found a way to join her…
I know there are some episodes I don't want to watch, but I think there are several more that I do. (S4E1: USS Callister; S2E1: Be Right Back; S3E4: San Junipero; S3E2: Playtest;)
Other shows I want to watch
I want to watch David Letterman's show on Netflix: My Next Guest Needs No Introduction! First President Obama, then George Clooney.
I also still want to go back and finish watching The Good Place season one. I watched the first three episodes, and I liked them a lot, but I just haven't gotten back to it yet.
Eventually I still want to check out Black Lightning (the newest superhero show on the CW). But that might not happen anytime soon. I think I would be more inclined to watch it if it were set in the Arrow-verse the way the other four shows are. But I don't know anything about this superhero, so maybe it just wouldn't make sense to connect him to the others? I don't know.
There is a new show called Krypton that I want to check out though. The first episode will air on March 21 on SyFy. Krypton will focus on "the untold story of Superman's grandfather as he fights for justice on his home planet." (Please be good! Please be good!)
I've also been told that I need to watch The Orville, and I probably will... eventually...
And finally, there is a new show called "Rise" premiering on March 13 on NBC that I'm looking forward to. When I watched the preview it reminded me A LOT of Glee, but I loved Glee, so I'm fine with that, lol!
As always I am ridiculously behind on all of the podcasts I want to listen to... but I did manage to listen to a few semi-recent episodes of The Bible for Normal People by Peter Enns and Jared Byas:
Most recently I was on the episode on "Women and Evangelicalism". John Weldy, Tiffany Earle, and I discuss the relationship between women and evangelicalism through the lens of Deborah Jian Lee’s Rescuing Jesus. How have women been shaped by evangelicalism? Why is there such a disparity in gender equality? What is the effect of purity culture? And how can we address these issues? You can listen to it by clicking here.

I love movies. I love going to the theater to watch my favorite kind of movies on the big screen, especially if I can go to a movie theater that has recliners! I love watching movies with friends and family and talking about them afterward. My favorite movies are probably almost all in the fantasy or sci-fi genre, as you can see from the lists below. I love almost all of the superhero movies. (Again, you will see a theme here.) So here I present a list of the 2017 movies I have seen so far, ranked from "favorite" to "meh", along with the ones I still want to see. (Side note: What a great year for superhero movies!)
Several of these movie titles now link to my very short mini-reviews on letterboxd.com. Feel free to add me on there if you are on there. (I highly recommend it if you like to watch a lot of movies. It's like Goodreads for movies.)
