Top Ten Books I Can't Believe I Read

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Can't Believe I Read

I was struggling to come up with 10 books for this category until I read more from the prompt which suggested that they could be books that were out of your comfort zone or guilty pleasures you're embarrassed to admit you read. So here is my list:

1. Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace, read in 2013
1088 pages! And so many footnotes/end-notes! I highly doubt I will ever feel the need or desire to read this one again.

2. Moby-Dick by Herman Melville, read in 2011
I hated this book. Such a waste of time.

3. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
4. New Moon by Stephenie Meyer
5. Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer
6. Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer

The Twilight Series. More than once. File these under guilty pleasure.

7. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
8. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
9. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

I really don't like these books or movies very much. They are much too dark and depressing for my taste and I hate the ending of the third book.

10. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Usually I'm not into reading books or watching movies that are going to make me sad. But I actually ended up liking this book quite a lot. I'll probably read it again at some point.

This actually reminds me of those Lurlene McDaniel books about kids with cancer that I was obsessed with in middle school? high school? I don't remember. But I also don't know why I was morbidly obsessed with those books - so they should be on this list too, lol!

Bonus: All 13 books in A Series of Unfortunate Events.
I really did not enjoy these but I kept going because I stubbornly just wanted to finish the series.
