5 Minute Friday: Encouragement

I haven't done one of these in a while, but here we go:

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

En-courage-ment
Encourage: to inspire with courage, spirit, or confidence.

I lack courage. I need encouragement to do the hard thing...
(to write the hard things)
to keep going, to be brave, to be bold, to go...

My mind immediately thinks of Aslan breathing Life over and into Lucy as he speaks softly in her ear, "Courage, dear-heart."
And the time he said to her, "You are a lioness."

Encouragement.
We all need it, the same as the little kid who smiles so big when she hears her daddy say "atta girl!" over her good grade or good effort in her softball game.

We need to hear life giving words:
"Eschet Chayil! Woman of Valor!"
"I'm proud of you!"
"I love you"
"That post you wrote the other day was so beautiful and it moved me deeply."
"I am so thankful for your friendship."
"You are a great mom!" (or dad, or friend, etc...)
"You did a great job!"

These are the words I choose to speak. And as we do this, the Spirit of God moves through us, loves through us, and whispers to each of us:

"Courage, dear-heart."
